The SDK Xbox One was leaked, but still the console is not hacked.

A group that calls itself H4LT had leaked the complete software development kit for Xbox One of Microsoft on 30 December 2015 respectively. The available data were on the stand from November 2014 and therefore very timely. According H4LZ are now “the Community” analyze the SDK just to allow, for example, homebrew software.

The leak of the software development kits for the Xbox One has already brought to light some interesting information, for example, further sharing of CPU power for developers. However, this was according to the group H4LT who posted the SDK, not really the goal. The SDK will now be analyzed by the community precisely so that any opportunities to be found to be self-penned “homebrew” software running on the console.

The go faster if many people can explore the SDK. Especially programmers who are very familiar with Windows 8? Check out loud H4LT the SDK. The Xbox One was basically was a restricted Windows 8 computer only and use a new package format that have so far not received much attention, but constitutes a modification of the VHD format for virtual hard disks. It will be used for updates to the console itself and for the storage of Apps. So far there is no real loud H4LT exploit, but their own tests have shown that this format could perhaps open the way to homebrew on the Xbox One.

There are some obstacles that even the SDK can not so easily be solved. To use the Xbox One also a strong encryption to prevent, for example illegal copies. Modifying a default console in a development kit is possible, but after a server-side authentication is required, which is hardly give Microsoft consoles such ease. Probably be even more chopped accordingly takes the Xbox One
