The software encrypts the data on the corporate network before they reach the server of the service provider. All keys remain in the company. In order to reduce the information to be stored, thus saving costs, OmniCloud performs an automatic check for duplicates (“deduplication”) and compresses the data. For measurements of the institute as 50% of the memory requirement could be saved.
The software supports all major operating systems and storage services like Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, SugarSync, Google Cloud Storage and Amazon S3. OmniCloud is multi-client capable. This ranges from one installation to generate different Subysteme, different departments work by means of which, for example, with other services. By combining several service OmniCloud also facilitates switching providers. This dependence on individual suppliers can be avoided.
