“It is the first time in our 37-year history that we enter the market for software solutions,” said Mark Glasgow, Enterprise Sales competent vice president of Micron, at a press event in London. “With the Micron Accelerated Solutions provides our customers with a complete package consisting of server platform, storage and workload management,” added Eric late Brock, vice president of storage marketing.

According to the storage vendor data centers today require infrastructure solutions fully adapted to the use of semiconductor technology – in particular flash memory is meant here. Today’s data center hardware set still on frame-based arrays with conventional hard drives and is separated from the actual calculation area. This architecture is loud Micron unable to process critical business information to the extent that the speed and diversity to analyze and store, as is required today. Rather, an IT infrastructure was needed that would cope with complex data sets.

Such will now provide, for example, Micron Accelerated Solution for VMware Virtual SAN Ready Nodes. Micron, VMware and the component manufacturer Supermicro cooperate for this purpose in the development of All-Flash-Ready-node that is to make a hyperkonvergente solution for compute and storage operations available.

The Micron Virtual SAN AF-4 , AF-6 and AF-8 Ready nodes are intended to enable administrators of server virtualization platform VMware vSphere, to make their data centers future-proof with a purely Flash-based technology. Compared to hybrid VMware Virtual SAN implementations with conventional magnetic hard drives, the Micron Accelerated Solution is designed to provide 40 times more IOPS and bandwidth for VMware Virtual SAN Ready Nodes, but have only 1/40 of the HDD latency.

Micron Accelerated Solution for VMware Virtual SAN ready nodes use features such as deduplication, compression and Erasure Coding, which are ready immediately with VMware Virtual SAN 6.2. The price of the VMware Virtual SAN All Flash Ready Nodes is loud Micron 0.44 dollars per gigabyte (effective capacity). Herein included are the suggested retail price for the entire server hardware and software, plus three years of support.
