GE Intelligent Platforms is the oil wells of BP connect using industry-4.0 software by GE over the Internet. In the first phase initially 650 oil wells are networked. In the medium term all 4,000 oil wells of BP to the grid.
The data management software from GE continuously fed data on the state of the equipment and operation, such as pressure, temperature, oil flow, quantity and quality, directly to the cloud a <- - sh_cad_2!>; There, the data from all sources are stored, filtered and analyzed. The data are recorded directly on the oil well about sensors. The aim is to sources of error early detection and to increase the safety and efficiency of the plants and to optimize oil and gas production.
The industry-4.0 software from GE allows not only to provide data in real time, but also evaluated by special intelligent algorithms so that can be predicted where and when is expected to defects; so errors can be eliminated before they cause malfunctions and failures. The data are not only collected, stored and analyzed, but also reduced to predefined parameters, graphically and translated into instructions for action.
The software of GE replaced own programming from BP. “By standardizing the software platform we get a better overview and a unified decision-making basis for all plants. So we reduce complexity, increase efficiency and productivity and enhance security,” said Peter Griffiths of BP, responsible for system optimization.
