With this new version there is an official Android version that can be installed directly from the Play Store.
The Kodi developers have Version 15 of its open source media center software published. The main novelty, they write, is not a new program feature: Kodi 15 for Android is now officially in Google’s Play Store. In mid-June the developers had already released a beta version of Kodi 15 set in the Play Store that was downloaded over 400,000 times.
Among the other new features in “Isengard”, the code name, include a new, visual Chapter selection and adaptive search function, which enlarges the increment forward and fast backward with each key press. The Add-ons Manager and the presentation of the available audio tracks have been improved. An overview of the new features can be found in the announcement of the new version in Kodi blog.
Kodi is a powerful Media Center software, which plays almost every audio and video format, numerous networking features offers and add-ons can be flexibly expanded. The software runs on a variety of platforms – the Raspberry Pi on Android devices to PCs with Linux, Mac OS X or Windows. (ODI)
