The 3rd of October 1990, a historic date for all of Germany. October 4, however, was a very special day for the software company Planat which has its headquarters in Baden-Württemberg Ostfildern near Stuttgart. Because on this day started the company, just hours after German reunification, a new location in Arnsdorf. “The CEO then saw great potential in the region,” says branch manager Kay-Uwe Hahnel. So now not only celebrates Germany 25 years but also Planat in Arnsdorf. And in the last quarter of a century the establishment was near Dresden always on track. That is also the next 25 years remain so.

But what exactly do the total of 15 employees of Arnsdorfer company? “We produce software for mid-sized manufacturing company that controls the process handling better,” explains Planat CEO Christian Biebl. Say: All data, from planning and ordering materials through to the production, completion and sales are recognized using the software. These can then be evaluated by the staff as well as influences on demand and improved. A sensible economic work and the optimization of profits are the main objectives. “The software is basically the nervous system of the company. We’re the neurologist, it kept alive the “Biebl describes the work of his employees. The default software for each buyer will be adjusted individually, after all, it was a difference whether the product is used in the metal, electronics and machinery industry. In addition, the employees of Planat train their customers in using the software.

This concept has already convinced numerous customers, 11,000 users worldwide use the software from Planat, 228 companies in charge of the company in all of Germany. In addition to the branch in Arnsdorf and the headquarters in Stuttgart further branches in Nuremberg, Karlsruhe and in Polish Wroclaw are located.

But the location in Arnsdorf has developed for the company’s second most important. Ever since April this year, a team of developers at the Kleinwolmsdorfer road is drawn in addition to the sales and consulting. And slowly it gets tight. Therefore, the software maker plans later this year a change of location. From Arnsdorf it goes closer to the Saxon capital approach, to be exact in the industrial area Dresden-Weißig. “In terms of area, we doubled,” explains Biebl. In addition, the Managing Director in all three areas studied up to 15 new employees. The job advertisements are already underway.

Unfortunately, it was not so easy to find software developers. “It was the car or the microwave, all software’s inside. But Bosch is currently looking for developers in 1200 “, explains Christian Biebl. That’s why the company is also its proximity to the Saxon universities such as the TU Dresden, very important. Here are the employees of the future, which will enrich the company with fresh ideas.

A big selling point for the branch in Arnsdorf: She has a very high customer density on site. So Planat been working since the first hour with Varialux or Kirchhoff & amp; teaching together. “Here in the region we have a high development potential. In Baden-Württemberg we are restricted because of the great competition, “explains the CEO. No wonder, then, that is, continuing to invest in the Arnsdorfer company that has a significant amount of the annual turnover of up to eight million euros. Thus something the next 25 years are marked by success.
