Big Data: Apache Software Foundation raises Kylin for top-level project – Heise Newsticker



Apache Kylin is an OLAP engine, transmit the many years established in the Business Intelligence OLAP cubes with the support of the Hadoop platform in the Big Data world want.

The Apache Software Foundation has the Big Data Framework Kylin appointed top-level project of the open source organization. The move means that the Kylin project has proven to follow the meritocratic process and the principles of Software Foundation and to act on them. The eBay brought into the Foundation technology was since November 2014 Apache Incubator, a melting pot of new projects in which they have to prove themselves as an open source project of the organization.

Kylin is an OLAP engine (Online Analytical Processing), which for many years established in the classical Business Intelligence OLAP cubes with the support of the Hadoop platform will transmit in the Big Data world. The project was launched in 2013. The first stable version 1.0 was released on September 6, 2015
