Microsoft’s JavaScript engine Chakra is open source software – Heise Newsticker

The fast JavaScript engine its browser Edge wants passed Microsoft open source community. Apart from Windows to other platforms are supported.

Microsoft will release substantial parts of its JavaScript engine Chakra as open source software. This was announced by Gaurav Seth and Adalberto Foresti with in a blog post at the conference JSConf in the US. The free version is called ChakraCore and be available in a public GitHub repository from January 2016th The two Microsoft employees invite you to participate in the development and adaptation of software.
